05 March 2012 We have tried in that link. And retrieved the details of challan number and date with major head and all.

We need the amount for the Challan which is being displayed...

Due to non-availability of Old Challans we can't find the value.... So that it is needed??

28 July 2025 If you already have the challan number, date, and major head code but don’t know the **amount paid**, here’s how you can retrieve it:

### How to find TDS Challan Payment Amount:

1. **Check on OLTAS Portal:**

* On the [NSDL OLTAS website](https://tin.tin.nsdl.com/oltas/index.html), after entering your challan details, you should be able to see the **amount paid** linked to that challan.
* Sometimes, the portal shows limited info. If so, try checking the **‘Challan Status Inquiry’** or **‘Challan Details’** option again carefully.

2. **View Form 26AS:**

* Your Form 26AS (available on the Income Tax e-filing portal) will reflect the TDS deposited against your PAN.
* It includes challan-wise details such as amount, date, and deductor.
* Visit [https://www.incometax.gov.in/iec/foportal/](https://www.incometax.gov.in/iec/foportal/) and login with your PAN credentials, then check Form 26AS.

3. **Request from Deductor:**

* If you are the deductee, ask the deductor (person/company who deducted the TDS) for a **copy of the challan or TDS certificate** (Form 16/16A).
* Deductors are required to deposit TDS and file TDS returns with challan details.

4. **Bank Challan Receipt:**

* If you or your deductor made the payment physically at a bank, try contacting the bank branch where the challan was submitted to get a duplicate receipt.

5. **RTI or Contact TDS Department:**

* As a last resort, you can raise an RTI (Right to Information) request to the Income Tax department or contact the TDS assessing officer with available details for assistance.

---

**Summary:**

* The easiest way to check amount is through **Form 26AS** or the **OLTAS portal**.
* If those fail, request documents from the deductor or the bank.

If you want, I can guide you step-by-step through Form 26AS or OLTAS lookup—just let me know!
