Tds -mismatch

in respect of govt contractors mismatching of tds with form 26as has taken place in so many occasions.for example claint is in possession of form 16a certificates amounting to rs 96,0000 .but form 26as in traces contains only rs 44,000. in this occasion whether it is better to file return in local tax office or to file trough online.my opinion is it is better to file in local office ,so that we can submitt the original tds certificates to local ito. please discuss
the AO shall have to provide credit as per the evidence provided by you as he/she needs to comply CBDT instructions for giving TDS credit
