Tds deposit sunday

06 August 2011 The last date of deposit of tds is 7th august 2011 sunday. So, we can deposit tax on next day manualy. But is Check covered in manual form ?

07 August 2011 If check deposited on 8th and it is cleared after that date, date of realization will be treated as the date of payment vide cental governments general rule of collection of taxes thoug there is a CBDT circular on the contrary. In nut shell, issue may lead to litigation if the IT department person know the former rule.
