Tds applicablity on fright cahrges

Please confirm, is TDS is applicable on the payemnts made to VRL logistics etc.. towards payments made for transportation of the goods like fright inward and out ward charges.

08 July 2013 Section 194C will apply. But no TDS should be deducted if PAN no is provided by the transporter. If PAN not provided 20% TDS should be deducted.

Details of payment made to transporters also required to be disclosed in TDS return whether TDS deducted or not.
