Tds applicable on ca bill include service tax?

25 April 2014 Hello Sir,

Please help me in case our CA created bill of Rs60000/+Service tax 12.36 % chrged extra.

Fees = 60000
S.T. 12.36% = 7416

Total Bill Amount = 67416/-

Whether TDS deduct on Rs.67416 or 60000?

plse give me entry also.

25 April 2014 TDS should be on 60K i.e exclusive of Service Tax.

Professional Fees Dr 67416
To TDS 6000
To Bank 61416
(Being paid professional Tax to....... by deducting TDS @10% u/s 194J)

25 April 2014 But why not deduct on gross value?
i mean 67416?

25 April 2014 It is rule as per Income Tax act that TDS should b deducted exclusive of Service Tax. U n me can't do anything in this matter. This is the rule set by IT Authority and we have to obey this.
