24 March 2015 One of my client, who is a sole proprietor, was not covered under Audit in the F.Y. 2013-14 A.Y. 2014-15, but in F.Y. 2014-15 A.Y. 2015-16 its an audit case. Was he liable to deduct TDS in F.Y.2014-15?

Would the answer change if it was a audit case in F.Y.2012-13 and he has deducted TDS in F.Y.2013-14? So now does he need to deduct TDS for the F.Y. 2014-15?

24 March 2015 to deduct tds or not in fy 14-15 u need to see whther tax audit was applicable i.e his gross turnover exceeded rs 1 crore or not in fy 13-14, if not then no tds to be deducted in fy 14-15.

24 March 2015 Simply stated he is not required to deduct TDS in FY 2014-15 since Tax Audit was not applicable in FY 2013-14.

Since it is a Tax Audit case in FY 2014-15, TDS is required to be deducted in FY 2015-16.

24 March 2015 Tax Audit was not applicable to him in F.Y. 2013-14. So no need to deduct TDS & file TDS returns. Thank u.

24 March 2015 Yes he will deduct TDS in F.Y. 2015-16.
