Hereโs a clear answer for your GST refund and cancellation query:
---
### Claiming Excess GST Paid Refund:
* If GST amount has been **deducted twice** from your bank account (i.e., excess payment), you can claim a refund of the excess amount. * File **GST Refund application online** using **Form GST RFD-01**. * This refund claim must be filed **within 2 years** from the relevant date (usually date of payment). * Refund processing typically takes about **30 days** or more.
---
### Regarding Cancellation of GST Registration and Composition Scheme:
* Since **1st April 2019**, threshold limits for GST registration (normal) is Rs. 40 lakh for goods.
* If your turnover is below threshold, you may want to **cancel GST registration**.
* To claim refund of balance in the **Electronic Cash Ledger** before cancellation, you must:
* File all pending **returns up to the date of cancellation**. * Submit **application for cancellation** through the GST portal. * Refund of balance cash ledger amount can be claimed after cancellation is approved.
* There is **no fixed deadline** for cancellation, but refund claim should be within **2 years** of the relevant date.
* Make sure you comply with conditions of **composition scheme exit**, as refund and cancellation have certain procedural requirements.
