I really don't have much idea regarding that.. it will be better if you wait a while for more expert views regarding that.. or you can ask from a local tax practitioner regarding this

Hey! Here's a clear take on your query about becoming an income tax consultant in India:
### Is there any official registration to become an Income Tax Consultant?
* **No formal government registration or license is required** to offer income tax consultancy services like filing returns, tax planning, or representing clients before the Income Tax Department (except in certain cases). * However, **only Chartered Accountants (CAs), Advocates, and Cost Accountants** have statutory rights to represent clients in all types of Income Tax proceedings. * Others can provide tax filing services and advisory but have **limited rights of representation**.
### About the Certificate from a CA regarding practice of direct taxation
* This is **not a statutory or mandatory certificate**. * Some clients or firms may ask for a recommendation or a certificate from a CA to ensure your competence. * It can be a **reference or testimonial**, but it is not an official authorization.
### What about appearing for clients before the department?
* **Authorized representatives** who can appear on behalf of assessee include:
* The assessee himself, * A CA, Advocate, or Cost Accountant, * Other persons authorized by the assessee through a written authorization (subject to certain conditions). * Being a sales tax practitioner does not automatically grant you the right to represent clients in income tax proceedings. * If you have appeared on behalf of clients in some cases, you might have been informally authorized, but for formal representation, you need proper authorization or be a CA/Advocate/Cost Accountant.
### Relevant courses for income tax consultancy:
* While no mandatory certification exists, you can enhance your skills and credibility by doing courses like:
* **Certificate courses in Income Tax or Direct Taxation** from reputed institutes or online platforms. * Courses offered by ICAI or other professional bodies. * GST Practitioner course (if you want to expand into GST consulting).
### What about the “Assessment orders of hearing” you mentioned?
* These are **documents related to cases you represented clients in**. * Keeping copies of such documents can help demonstrate your experience. * However, **they are not a substitute for official authorization** to practice or represent before the Income Tax Department.

### Summary for you:
* No official registration for Income Tax consultancy (other than being a CA, Advocate, or Cost Accountant for representation). * You can continue providing tax filing and advisory services. * Get some certificate courses to boost credibility. * For formal representation, consider working under or with a CA or getting authorized clients.
