TAN IN PROP FIRM

This query is : Resolved

03 November 2009 Pl. guide, in what name a Prop firm should apply for TAN. In form 49B, only name of the prop has been asked not of the prop. firm.
In case TAN applied in the name of Proprietor, what will be the case if a person having more than 1, say 2-3 prop. firms and there is a tax deduction liability in each firm.

Pl. reply asap.

regards,

03 November 2009 A proprietorship firm has no seperate identity in the eye of law. So the PAN and TAN both will be in the name of the Individual owner. So fill up the form as applicable for an Individual.
