11 February 2013 1. Should I surrender Existing PAN Card first and then Apply for new PAN Card

OR

Should I apply new PAN Card and then surrender the existing one.

2. I have a only one PAN CARD in Gujrat jusdiction and I am in bangalore. I want to get rid of my old pan card and want to get the new one.

In case of having only one card, I need to contact to Assessing Officer so should I go to Gujrat again for surrendering again?

3. I do not want to face the AO, So can I apply for new PAN Card in Bangalore and once I recieve the same, based on having two PAN Card, Can I submit the old

PAN card to any TIN-FC Centerto surrender?

Is there any thing illegal or panelty imposed on such transaction?

4. What could be good reason to mention for surrendering the PAN Card in case of point no. 3.

11 February 2013 You need not to do such things. You can simply apply for correction of pan data and change your address. You will get a new PAN card delivered at your new address with a letter which will caontain your new jurisdiction address. your old file will be send to your new AO at Bangalore.
Applying for new PAN while holding one already will attract panalty.

Basically, I want to change my PAN card Number along with the address, so by applying for correction of pan data and address as you suggested, My new pan card have different PAN Number or the same old exisiting pan number?

If the same existing PAN Number, Does we have any other option to change the pan number alongwith address, my email associated with and so on?

16 February 2013 I could not see reasons for getting new number!
Anyways, in case your income is below taxability limit, you can first surrender your existing PAN and than you can re-apply when your income comes under tax provisions.
PAN no. will be same in case you apply for corrections.

19 March 2013 I have applied and received my new PAN Card in Bangalore now.

1. Now what is the procedure for surrendering the my existing Gujrat PAN Card?

2. What should take care before surrendering pan card?

3. On surrendering my pan card, Will I get any confirmation letter / surrender applied letter / any courier to my postal address or sms on mobile or email on my email id given while registering of pan card

4. While surrendering my pan card, what reason should I mention i.e. why I am surrendering?

Even i am in a similar situation like you. I have got a old PAN from Blore and a new PAN from HYD. I want to surrender the Hyd PAN. Have you got any solution to this?
