Is it mandatory to submit the copy of ST-3 to the local Service Tax office after Efiling of ST-3?

Will u please elaborate with notification, because when I ask in helpline they replied it is necessary to file.

I'd asked the same Q over helpline few weeks back, was told hard copy is not required.
