14 May 2014 Pl help me to get an idea, that one of our transporter who has billed towards water sprinkle done at your plot to supress dust and narration given Transportation charges on water tanker and also he has given declaration on his bill that "Service Tax to be paid by the consignee". I want to know whether that bill will attract service tax and TDS ?

15 May 2014 Sir,if your transporter is a GTA and issues consignment note for the transportation charges,then you shall be liable to pay service tax @ 12.36%(under reverse charge).There is an abatemnt of 75% as per notification no.13/2012.

Also If the tranporter has a PAN Number,then there is no requiremnt to deduct his TDS.

15 May 2014 for service tax you have have to pay service tax on freight @ 3.09% after abetment 75% and if your transpprter have PAN then no need to deduct TDS. other wise you have to deduct @ 20% tds on freight amount.
