Hi! we are having Partnership firm engaged in trading of Edible oil.i need to know whether we have to take service tax registration or not as we make payment to transporter & if yes then what is the threshold limit for taking registration for service tax on gta

In case of gta service the service receipient has to pay sevice tax as per reverse charge mechanism so u need to register under service tax act and it is important to know that there is no thress hold limit in case of reverse charge mechanism it is must to regester. remember that reverse charge in gta is applicable to partnership firm also.

I agree with Mr. Mallela that there is no threshold limit.
