09 October 2012 Dear Sir,
I wish to clarify a doubt regarding Service Tax payment.
Which accounting code should be used for Service Tax payment for the assessees who have got the registration before 1.7.2012?
Whether the old one (allotted based on nature of service) or the new accounting code introduced for all services?

10 October 2012 The relevant notification prescribing for New accounting code common for all services also provides that for the payment related to the period prior to first july ,2012 you have to quote the earlier accounting codes (Which were there for different specified services) and for the payment of S.T related to the Period after 30th June you have to quote the new accounting codes.CA.SAGAR MAL PAREEK 09824346469
