If the works contract involves transfer of property of goods,service tax attracts as per section 65(105)(zzzza) of the Finance act,1994 under the head 'works contract services'.General service tax rate is 10.3% on the contract value subject to certain deductions and the Compounded rate is 4.12% on the entire contract value.
