08 July 2010 pl guide us on the following issue

we have paid service tax in oct 07 and not taken the same in the return .

can we adjust the same now or revised the earlier return

08 July 2010 Revised return not possible because time limit to revise the return in 90 days from the orginal return date. so please make offical initimation regarding this to the department and as per instructions of department you can adjust

08 July 2010 Adjustment is not possible. Any excess payment of tax can be adjusted in the next period(Month/Quarter) only subject to monetary limitation. The department needs to be intimated of such adjustment as well.

Further refund claim is also not possible as the matter is time barred by now.
