Service tax on 'renting' for charitable trust

We have a trust in which we receive rent on an immovable property. Rent exceeds 10 lac a year. Does the Trust which is meant for Charitable Objects need to register with service tax authorities?

11 January 2013 Though the trust which is carrying out charitable activities is getting rent from immovable property ., it has to collect service tax and to be registered.

11 January 2013 the activities of charitable trust in the nature of charity are exempt., but renting of immovable property is not a charitable service to exempt from service tax
