04 January 2014 Whether owning a residential house in joint names disqualify the joint owner from Section 80EE benefit if he/she goes for new house in his/her name??

04 January 2014 Hi

Yes it qualifies.

Thanks

04 January 2014 there is no restriction on this.

05 January 2014 Thank you all.

Further I wanna know-

If an individual is already a joint owner in a residential property.
Whether he would be eligible for deduction under Section 80EE, if he/she satisfy all other conditions mentioned under Section 80EE

06 January 2014 Yes in such case also he is allowed as the intention of drfating sec 80EE is togive deduction to Assessee.

20 January 2014 Dear Mr. Tushar,

According to me this deduction is provided only to give benefit to assessees who does not own any residential house.

But in my case assessee already a joint owner in a residential house.
