03 August 2014 I want to enquire whether Preventive Health Check up as allowable under Sec. 80 D for upto Rs 5000/- in cash includes normal checkups viz, blood test, x-ray, sugar test,etc. Can deduction for above be claimed u/s 80D?

04 August 2014 There are no specific category mentioned for this deduction. But this deduction would be allowed within the overall limit of Rs. 15,000 ( or higher for senior citizens)Please keep all the bills including those paid by cash.

07 April 2016 Rs.5000/ inclusive of Maximum limit u/s 80D, so preventive health check up or Master health check up up to maximum rs.5000/- subject to maximum of 80D deduction.
