Salary income earned in qatar

14 August 2015 Hi everyone !!

One of my client left India for employment in Qatar on 06 sep, 2014. Now I have to file his income tax return for FY 2014-15 for salary income earned in India from 01 April 2014 to 30 Aug 2014.
He is a resident of India

Now my questions are as follows:
1. Whether salary income earned in qatar is taxable in India as per DTAA?

2. If Not then should he required to disclose salary earned in qatar in his income tax return?

3. One of the person suggest him to file his return showing as non resident. Is there any benefit for doing it?

14 August 2015 He is not resident of India as his stay in India is less than 182 days.

1 Salary income earned in Qatar is not taxable in India as he is non resident.
2 Not required but can be shown in exempted income.
3 That person is right in suggesting to file return as non resident. If you file the return as resident, Qatar income is taxable.
