Sahara deposit Scheme

17 February 2009 I m having a Query that if a person has taken Sahara deposit scheme on deduction is not allowed and the amount is paid on monthly basis for 4 to 5 years .payment is made through cash.But the maturity amt. received is through cheque. I want to know that whether i should calculate the interest on this scheme and show it in the return as Interest Income or any other suggestion.
Please provide me the best option .
