i filed ST return in April 2010 for FY 2009-10. now i want to revise the return.

what is the time period for revising the return?

As per Rules its 60 days. as such i have exceeded the 60 days mark. how to revise the return?

17 August 2010 As such rules with in 60 days from the date of original return can be revise the return.if the limit is exceed the return will not accept by the department, the Original return is final

17 August 2010 ya...but paid the liable tax...the revised status must be notified to department....it has huge impact on the services liable to ST gross amount.

can revised return be manually filed?

17 August 2010 Time limit is 90 days and not 60 days. Pl refer Notification No.4/2008.

17 August 2010 yes sir its 90 days. but even that has exceeded. now must file the revised return. how to do the same?

18 August 2010 2 months back, one of my client approch the department for filling revised return which is beyond the time limit. but the department people is not accepting the same saying time is barred, also they are not indicating the procedure if the return is beyond time limit.

I hope in your case , if the service tax liablity is there, then you pay the same and try with manual return with your Service tax department, it may accepted
