09 November 2013 DEAR SIR,
I GOT COMPENSATION FROM LAND ACQUISITION BY GOVT. IN 2010-11 RS.1250000/-MY CONSULTANT WRONGLY CALCULATED THE SAME AS LONG TERM CAPITAL GAIN AND DEPOSITED RS.225000/- AS LONG TERM CAPITAL GAIN TAX.
NOW I CAME TO KNOW THAT THIS WAS EXEMPT BUT DUE TO MISTAKE BY MY CONSULTANT I SUFFERED A LOSS OF RS.225000/- OF TAX DEPOSITED THEN.
ADVICE ME REMEDIES IF,ANY AVAILABLE

09 November 2013 Every land acquisition by the Govt. is not exempt.
.
The exemption was required to be claimed in the return of income in case the land in question was an agriculture.
.

Still you may try to file rectification request U/s 154.
.
