18 October 2011 Whether Service Tax return can be filed through Digital Signature??
What documents are required to be submitted in Hard Copy in case of return filed Online without Digital Signatures??
Whether any documents need to be filed as attachment with online return i.e. challan etc..

18 October 2011 1. There is no requirement of Digital Signature for filing the Service Tax Return.

2. you need not require to submit the return or any other documents with the department even it is filed without digital signature

3. no other documents is required to be attach while filing online return. ( Even challan is not required)

Digital Signature Requirement:

No Digital Signature is required for filing Service Tax returns online.

Hard Copy Submission:

If you file the Service Tax return online without a Digital Signature, no physical copy or documents need to be submitted to the department.

Attachments with Online Return:

No need to attach any documents like challans or others while filing the return online.

TPIN (Temporary Password Identification Number):

After submitting the application for registration, the TPIN is usually sent within hours via email.

Where to Deposit Service Tax:

Service Tax payments should be deposited in the Centralized Payment Processing System (CPPS) — effectively, through designated banks authorized by the Central Board of Excise and Customs (CBEC).

So you don’t deposit tax physically at the ward office; it’s done online or at authorized banks.
