    I have taken Home loan and paying EMI since Sept 2010 and taken Possession of a Flat in January 2013. I have not taken benefit of EMI interest paid of Rs.150000 in my 10-11 and 11-12 income tax because i was not having possession of the flat. This year 12-13 i am taking benefit of Rs.150000 in income tax. As per rule of Income Tax i can claim interest paid during pre-possession in next 5 years equally. i.e. Rs.150000 + Rs.150000 = Rs.300000/5= Rs.60000/- next five financial years. Can i show Home loan interest of Rs. Rs.150000 + Rs. 60000/- = Rs. 2,10,000/- and take tax benefit in 12-13 and next five years on Rs. 2,10,000/- ? OR it is limited to only Rs. 1,50,000/- ?
