19 October 2010 how should i show the service tax amount of p/y recd in this year due to amendment in budget , in the C/y service tax return.

for such service tax amount no payble entry in p/y books as not taxable in such year but now amedment retrospectively.

19 October 2010 If the particular service is not taxable at the time of providing the services, No service tax is payable at the time of receipt.

20 October 2010 The retrospectivity of rental of IP has been stayed in the case of Trent Ltd by the High Court of Andhra.

Even prospectively there is a doubt and stay granted again by the Delhi HC in May 2010.

Examine the levy and then pass entries.
