A tenant of the assessee has deposited rent in the court of law and the same was not received by him.Shall the rent be declared as income for tax puporse now or in the year of withdrawl from court? Pls let me know any case laws in this regard.

it will be income only even if it is disputed in this case and msut be offered for tax.
