my client is an unmarried daughter of a govt. servant. After various litigation and legal formalities she has recd. family pension for last 10 in years in lumpsum. Can she avail any relief for such arrears of family pension to curtail the heavy tax implication on her in current year. Kindly guide with procedure, if any.

Relief can be claimed . Please see section 89(1) and rule 21A.
