my query is whether employee consider rebate of rs 2000/- for calculating tds......I called to nsdl offices ...they told deduct tds ignoring rebate....and employee should claim refund.....other wise default will be generated. .in form 24 q.....kindly advise....I had mailed them it circular in which its clearly mention emloyer should consider rebate for tds purpose...

well this is a problem because Annexure II of the TDS return doesn't provide for 87A rebate. So yes, you can expect problems on this account.
