21 July 2017 We are having GSTIN registration in Maharashtra. We want to apply for new GSTIN registration in Gujarat for same company.
Kindly let us which reason to be applicable for new registration of GSTIN in Gujarat.

20 July 2025 If your company already has a GST registration in Maharashtra and now wants to register for GST in Gujarat for the same company, the reason for applying a new GSTIN registration would be:

Reason: "New place of business"
Explanation:
Under GST law, every distinct place of business of a taxpayer requires a separate GST registration.
Since you are expanding or operating a business location in Gujarat (different state from Maharashtra), you need to obtain a separate GST registration for Gujarat.
The existing GSTIN in Maharashtra is linked to the business location in Maharashtra only.
The Gujarat GSTIN will cover the new business premises/warehouse/shop/branch in Gujarat.
Key Points:
You should apply for GST registration in Gujarat with the reason as “New Place of Business”.
This is applicable whether you are starting a branch, warehouse, or any other place of business.
