GST Registration Application -Rejected

Dear Members,
My new GST registration application was rejected on the following 2 reasons please suggest solution-
1. Place of business- place of business was given on consent by XYZ, so we provided consent letter but, the electricity bill is paid by the premises on whole by the society therefore they gave an invoice issue by society to XYZ for such charges. Can we provide a different place with valid documents which is not our place of business.
2. Residential proof i.e. passport of partner since he is an NRI- passport of NRI had his Indian address so i provided electricity/ utility bill of foreign country still
We mentioned all this in clarification to new gst application filed but still not accepted.

- Use a place where you actually conduct business and can provide full documentation.
- Documents required:
- Latest electricity bill or property tax receipt in the name of the business or consenting owner.
- Rent agreement or consent letter on ₹100 stamp paper.
- NOC from the owner (if not covered in consent letter).
- Any one utility bill (electricity/water/gas) matching the address.
Problem: You submitted a consent letter from XYZ, but the electricity bill was issued by the society to XYZ, not directly to your business.
- Documents required:
- Latest electricity bill or property tax receipt in the name of the business or consenting owner.
- Rent agreement or consent letter on ₹100 stamp paper.
- NOC from the owner (if not covered in consent letter).
- Any one utility bill (electricity/water/gas) matching the address.
Problem: You submitted a consent letter from XYZ, but the electricity bill was issued by the society to XYZ, not directly to your business.

- If you still want to use XYZ’s premises:
- Ensure the consent letter is notarized and includes:
- Owner’s PAN and Aadhaar.
- Clear mention of business activity allowed.
- Attach the society’s invoice to XYZ and a letter from the society confirming XYZ’s occupancy and consent to sublet or allow business use.
- Add photos of the premises with nameplate of your business.
- Avoid using a different place that is not your actual business location. This violates Rule 8 of CGST Rules and may lead to future cancellation.
- Ensure the consent letter is notarized and includes:
- Owner’s PAN and Aadhaar.
- Clear mention of business activity allowed.
- Attach the society’s invoice to XYZ and a letter from the society confirming XYZ’s occupancy and consent to sublet or allow business use.
