16 November 2025 There has been a major change in the GST structure after GST 2.0: now, there are only two slabs for most building materials—5% and 18%.

For bricks specifically (after GFT 2.0, in 2025):

Common clay bricks, fly ash bricks, sand-lime bricks: GST is now set at 5% (down from earlier 12%) for simpler compliance.

Special bricks (cement, refractory): GST is 18% (these are used in special applications such as furnaces, linings, and structural blocks).
