why not? write the equation and solve it....and you will get the answer 2s/3t = square of [(2s-p)/(3t-p)] =[(4s square - 4sp + p square) / (9t square - 6tp + p square)] cross multiply and you will get the answer

Oh!......still you dont get it....ok ok changing the side of 12t*s square and 2 s*p square, what we get is 18s*t square-12 t*s square = 3t*p square -2 s*p square taking (3t-2s) common, what we get is 6st(3t-2s) = p square(3t-2s)

please try to solve it
If b is the mean proportional of a and c,then (a+b+c)(a-b+c)=
a)a×a+b×b-c×c
b)a×a-b×b+c×c
c)a×a+b×b+c×c
d)a×a-b×b-c×c

b square = ac Now solving (a+b+c) (a-b+c) = a square -ab+ac-ab-b square+bc+ac-bc+c square = a square +2ac-b square+c square replacing ac with b square =a square + 2b square-b square + c square = a square+b square+c square
(By the way, please tell me your educational back ground, if you dont mind)
See what I think, you need to do LOT of practice of solving such questions. I will tell you a simple trick.....Just randomly select 10 sums with solutions, from this topic. Solve only those 10 sums daily 3 to 4 times for 5 days consecutively.....6 th day you try some other sum and see if you can solve by yourself.....if yes... you are through... if no....repeat above exercise for another 5 days.....ok? Do try it...i have made many mathematically neutral students scoring good marks in mathematics

one more question please
solve in your method please
I got but it's very difficult method to solve
Question: -Last year the ratio between the salaries of A and B was 3:4 but the ratio of their individual salaries between the last year and this year were 4:5 and 2:3 respectively. If the sum of their present salaries is Rs.4,160 then the salary of A is now
a)Rs.1,040
b)Rs.1,600
c)Rs.2,560
d)Rs.3,120
20 July 2016
Please.....something is missing in this......please repeat the question..... Last year ratio between the salaries of A and B was 3:4..................... (This is ok) Now you say...the ratio of their individual salaries between last year was 4:5.....(What is this? ) Can you please clarify?
20 July 2016
actually nothing is missing. the question is this only.
They said that the ratio of salary of A between last year and present year is 4:5 and ratio of salary of B between last year's and present year is 2:3

That is why I told you to practice more and more...... Let me tell you one more thing.....There is a concept called as "DEDUCING theory". You will master it once you start practising/solving the sums on daily basis...(No matter you solve the same sums again and again) Now let me put forth the logic of solution since total of current salaries of A and B is 4160, the total of last year's salaries of A and B = 3120...(How?)Because the ratio given is 3:4.....ok? is it correct? Please confirm....because I still have soe doubts about the WORDING of your question.......Please confirm

That is absolutely fine... See, let me tell you one simple thing..... such questions can be solved by "deducing" theory Just go on solving...one by one....first will be to assume A = 1040 and see if it produces the correct result.....if NO...then go for B = 1600 and so on......
