30 July 2017 dear sir, in my father salary TDS was teducted in AY 2010-11, we claimed it for payment of income tax but department has raised demand for amount of TDS due to putting wrong PAN No. in form 16 .So please make me aware that what should I do?

31 July 2017 or u can ask for an affidavit from company about correctness of ur claim nd that can be attached to application made to AO

19 July 2025 Yes, you can respond online to the Income Tax Department by uploading the scanned copy of the affidavit along with your response in the e-proceedings portal (if the demand is raised through electronic notice).

Here’s what you should do:

Get the affidavit from the company confirming the correct PAN and TDS deduction details.
Log in to the Income Tax e-filing portal (https://www.incometax.gov.in/iec/foportal).
Locate the pending demand notice under “e-Proceedings” or “e-Nivaran” (depending on the platform).
Upload the scanned affidavit as evidence along with your written explanation.
Submit your response online.
