17 August 2012 i am a qualified CS and presently working as a CS in whole time practice. i am interested in joining CA course as well. I need to know if i can continue with my CP number and articleship of CA simultaneously??

17 August 2012 No you need to take PRIOR approval of ICAI. While doing articleship no INTEREST of any sort can be continued except with the prior approval of ICAI. (So much so, even inherited interest in the family busines needs prior approval)
