Procedure to change PAN resident becomes non resident

One of my cleint has became non resdient in the current year.Earlier he was resident and was holding PAN no. What is the procedure for changing his PAN no. as he has now become non resident.Whether he has to surrender his original PAN no.?

There is no procedure to change the resident status on the PAN. The same can be done while filing return of income of the person by selecting his appropriate resident status. PAN will remain the same only.
