29 January 2014 Does payment of pension (not from any trust)by company to Past director as a gesture for his good deeds for his peaceful future attract service tax?

29 January 2014 well if it is not in form of pension paid to employees, it would attract service tax..

29 January 2014 Hi, it is pension. Can you pl give me reference for your view

29 January 2014 see its simple. if the director was employee of the company, then it is pension. If he wasn't employee, then what you are paying cannot be treated as pension!! Once that is the case, the payments would take form of something like professional fees...
