08 December 2011 WHAT IS THE PROCEDURE TO TAKE REFUND OF THE DUTY PAID IN THE WRONG HEAD LIKE I HAD TO PAY RS.40000 IN THE CODE 00380003 BUT I PAID BY MISTAKE IN THE CODE 00380115 NOW WHAT IS THE PROCEDURE? WHICH EXCISE AUTHORITES I HAVE TO CONTACT TO COMPLETE THE PROCEDURE.

In case you have made payment in wrong account coed then you will have approach the excise authorities with the details. Concerned department in the excise can change the account code.

10 December 2011 for getting refund you have to appraoch Chief Accounts officeer of the concerned Commissionerate of EXcise but it is very cumbersome and time consuming process.

The other alternate is write to your range superitedent of Central Excise under whose Jurisdiction your company is located with the facts that you have deposited duty in wrong head through inadvertantly and mark a copy of the AC/DC of the Division.

Ask him any other docs ...... etc.
