This discussion clarifies how to declare other income in your Income Tax Return (ITR), specifically focusing on gifts received. Business income under Section 44AD is treated separately. Gifts, unless from blood relations, are generally taxed under 'Other Sources' at the applicable slab rate (10% or 30%), not a flat 30%. Lottery winnings are typically taxed at a flat 30%.

If gift is received during the course of business, then include the gift received as business income and declare income under a presumptive basis. or if a gift is received otherwise, then it will be taxable according to the slab rate.
