This query is : Resolved

22 January 2012 what is the maximum number of shares to be issued in a single share certificate?

22 January 2012 There is no limit. You can allot any numbers of shares in a share certificate.

others view are solicited.

23 January 2012 I agree with Ms. Charu, as per law there is no rtestriction on the maximum number of shares that are to be allotted in a share certificate.

But, practically in Delhi we issue only 1000 shares in a share certificate and the reason of the same is- You have to pay stamp duty in the share certificate, hence generally people allot only that much shares in 1 share certificate, which is comfortable for them to paste stamps on the certificate or alternatively you can pay stamp duty through franklin mode through which you can allot any number of shares in 1 certificate.
