Nsdl deleted pan card number

26 March 2012 Hi,

I have applied for correction of name in my PAN Card. But NSDL seems to have deleted the PAN Card instead of correcting the same..

How do proceed further...?

Update: Upon checking the status using the acknowledgement, it shows:

"PAN provided in your request for 'New PAN card and/or Change/Correction in PAN Data' has been deleted / deactivated by Income Tax Department and is under examination at ITD."

Can you please guide whom do I contact?

I will suggest you to wait for few more days and then contact NSDL official for the same.

27 March 2012 New PAN card with new PAN number will be issued shortly. Reason not known,but experienced identical issue.
