29 January 2016 I HAVE FILLED MY RETURN OF A.Y-2008-09 ON30/05/2008 & RECEIVED A REFUND OF RS.96670/=ON 21/10/2008.I HAVE SERVED A NOTICE U/S 148 ON 5/4/15 BY DT.27/03/2015DISPATCHED ON 30/03/15.ON 1ST WEEK OF JAN.2016 ONE INSPECTOR OF INCOME TAX MET ME & SAID FOR AN A APPLICATION MENTIONING THE LANGUAGE CONSIDERING THE RETURN FILED BY ME HAS TO BE TREATED AS COMPLIANCE. TO CLOSE THE SEC/148.& I GAVE IT.NOW TODAY I RECEIVED A LETTER OF ASSESSMENT ORDER WITH PENALITY MENTIONING THAT NOYICE U/S 14-2 7 142-1 WAS ISSUED & DULY SERVED WHEREAS I HAVE NOT RECEIVED ANY SUCH NOTICE.IT ALSO MENTION THAT I HAVEBEEN HEARED & DISCUSSED BUT IT HAS NO HAPPEN IN REAL.
NOW WHAT I SHOULD DO?
I AM A DEV. OFFICER IN LIC & TAKE EXEMPTION OF CONVENCE ALLOWANCES U/S 10(14) OF RS. 299950 WHIC IS REJECTED BY AC OF INCOME TAX UNILATERLLY.

30 January 2016 You should immediately file appeal against the order of assessment with the CIT(A) of your jurisdictional area in form 35. Take assistance of some experienced and able tax practitioner in your area to explain him the case and file appeal on your behalf.
Explain the case in detail to him and he will frame the grounds of appeal accordingly. Tell him to challenge the validity of assessment when no notice was served and no opportunity of being heard was given to you.
