Notice pay taxability

Dear Sir,
I have recently changed my job.
To my previous employer I have payed 'notice pay' from my pocket which is already taxed. Now, my new employer while reimbursing the same is deducting the tax on the reimbursement amount.
Can you please tell me whatever they are doing is right??. Taxed at both endss??

This is correct if your total salary is taxable and you are liable for tax deduction.
