02 May 2011 The Sahaj answer to your query is start e-filing which is very Sugam.

IT Department desires that more and more returns should be filed electronically that's why manual filing of return is being made Durgam.

03 May 2011 Thanks for your comment.

But People sintting in North Block ( New Delhi) has to think about and should be re name both forms AS DURGAM AND DURLABH ?

04 August 2024 The ITR forms you mentioned, **Sahaj (ITR-1)** and **Sugam (ITR-4)**, are used for income tax filing in India. If you're facing issues with ink or printing, here’s some guidance on handling the forms and printer-related concerns:

### **1. Printing Issues with ITR Forms:**

- **Ink Color and Printer Compatibility:**
- The ITR forms, especially for tax returns, are generally designed to be printed in black and white. Red ink or other colors are not standard for these forms.
- If your concern is about printing the forms correctly, ensure that your printer settings are optimized for printing forms. Use high-quality paper and check if your printer settings are set to "Standard" or "Best" quality to ensure legibility.

- **Avoiding Ink Issues:**
- Ensure that your printer uses good quality black ink or toner. You don’t need to purchase a new printer just for the ITR forms. Your existing laser printer (black & white) should be sufficient as long as it prints clearly and legibly.
- If you face issues with the scanner not picking up the red ink, it might be related to how the forms are designed. Stick to printing in black and white to avoid such issues.

### **2. Understanding the Forms:**

- **Sahaj (ITR-1):** For individuals with income up to ₹50 lakhs and who meet other specific conditions.
- **Sugam (ITR-4):** For individuals, Hindu Undivided Families (HUFs), and firms (other than LLP) who have opted for the presumptive taxation scheme under Section 44AD, 44AE, or 44ADA.

### **3. Purchasing New Printer:**

- **Not Necessary:** You do not need to purchase a new printer specifically for printing ITR forms. Ensure your current printer is in good working condition and has adequate ink or toner.

### **4. Alternative Solutions:**

- **Form Filling Software:** Use tax filing software or online platforms provided by the Income Tax Department, which might offer options to download and print the forms correctly formatted.
- **Consultation:** If issues persist, consider consulting a tax professional who can assist with form filing and printing issues.

### **5. Name Suggestions for Forms:**

- Your point about renaming the forms as "DURGAM" (difficult) and "DURLABH" (rare) reflects the common frustration with the complexity of tax forms. While this is a creative suggestion, any changes to form names would be a policy decision for the tax authorities.

In summary, for printing and scanning issues with ITR forms, focus on ensuring that your printer is set up correctly and that you're using high-quality black ink. You do not need a new printer for this. If the issues continue, using official tax filing platforms might resolve formatting and printing problems.
