A S.S.I UNIT WHO IS REGISTERED IN CENTRAL EXCISE HAVING INVESTMENT IN MACHINERY RS.6.00 CRORE CAN BE ENTITLED TO GET EXEMPTION OF 150LAKH IN CENTRAL EXCISE IN HIS FIRST YEAR .

The criteria for considering an unit as SSI purpose is the turnover and not the investment in plant and machinery. Hence the SSI benefit can be availed for clearence upto
150 lakhs. But the issue is you will not be in a position to avail the cenvat credit on the capital goods initially
