22 January 2014 Whether Medical Insurance amount included in CTC is allowed under Section 80D??

Amt. included in CTC is not allowed as deduction, however if any amt is recovered from employees salary then same is allowed as deduction.

22 January 2014 As per 80 D deduction is available if payment is made by assessee himself.

22 January 2014 Vaibhav, Though it is included in CTC and paid by the company but still indirectly it is paid by the employee only. Then why the deduction could not be taken.

To be eligible to claim as paid by employee it should either form part of his taxable salary, since it is never been added to salary & deducted you can not claim deduction for the same, as employee is bearing its cost.
