A Mfg unit engaged in manufacturing of Plastic Boxes, takes cenvat credit on the raw material purchased. Now it wants to start manufacturing of Paper Envelopes, however, it does not wants to take Cenvat & pay Duty at the lower rate of 2%. Is it possible ? Please check & inform the relevant Notification / Circular.

Without cenvat credit you can pay the duty on envelopes at the rate of 2% and with cenvat credit facility 6%.

Then, how the Accounting Records shall be maintained & monthly ER-1 shall be filed ?
Because there shall be two different types of goods, one with cenvat credit facility & one without. ?

You can file the both item in same monthly return but account should be maintained disparately.
