Produced is a more extended term that manufactured.
I simple terms, what I have understood is an article which needs Something other than human effort as well is not manufactured but produced, e.g. Crops, Trees, Flowers etc.
Everything that is manufactured is covered under the definition of produced but what is produced may or may not have manufactured.
Any other views are welcome.
