Liability of service tax

02 May 2014 one of my client is providing moter vechile (car)oh hire and already registered under service tax.... i want to know whether he is required to pay service tax or reverse charge mechanism is applicable on him...

2) my client wants to surrender his s tax registration so please specify me what reason should be reasonably mention for surrender

02 May 2014 Your client is providing a taxable service.He is required to pay service tax except in the case where reverse charge is applicable.
As per notification 30/2012 Reverse charge is applicable only when the service provider i.e ur client is a individual,Huf or partnership firm and the service receiver is a body corporate.

In other cases where the reverse charge conditions are not fulfilled,the service provider ,your client only shall pay service tax.

Your client can surrender his registration only if he stops providing any service
