07 October 2013 Hello sir
Can any one tell me in consecutive leave of 2 months in C.A articleship ,weekend holiday i.e sunday are including or excluding in calculating the total no. of leaves in no of days.

Sorry to disagree here. When you are on a continuous leave, then all the holidays, whether weekends or statutory are included in leave.

As per point no. 4, holidays between exam days are not be considered as leave.

However ICAI has not clarified on treatment of Holidays/Stat holidays/National Holidays falling between leaves.

08 October 2013 Yes. Except for intervening gaps in exam days, all days including statutory holidays during a continuous leave are counted as holidays. Rather its a very simple logic, when you are not on leave, sundays and saturdays are counted as present. So its natural that the reverse logic is also adhered to.

08 October 2013 Its on your Principal.

In my case he had given exemption since he was of the view that salary is payable for only 26 days in month. So he reckoned 26 days leaves in a month when we were on leave for full month.
